About Me

   I began my training in Massage therapy at the Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health while in residence there in 1990, and was certified as a Kripalu Bodyworker and certified as a Kripalu Yoga Instructor. I have been practicing off and on for the last 15 years as I have been raising my two children, and I recently graduated from the StillPoint School of Massage at Greenfield Community College in June of 2006, thus completing a total of 1000 hours of training.
    I am now currently building my practice intending to develop a full time business, and eventually to open a health clinic which will focus on "greening the body from the inside out", supporting individuals in taking responsibility for their health, especially in the area of diet and nutrition, emphasizing the use of fasting and the transition to the consumption of more raw organic foods.
   My practice is based in Swedish Massage with complementary modalities including Deep Tissue, Trigger Point, Myofascial Release, Polarity-Energy Balancing, and Reflexology. My work is grounded in a solid knowledge of anatomy, myology (the study of muscles), kinesiology (the study of movement), and pathology.
   Most importantly, I am a formal devotee of the Avataric Great Sage,
Adi Da Samraj, and His Wisdom-Teaching greatly informs my approach and enables me to transform my practice into a sacred art. Adi Da's unique perspective on health and healing can be summarized in the following statement;

    “The basic principle of health, well-being, and the action of healing is the presumption of prior perfection rather than the motivating problem.
    One must be established in the presumption that Truth Is Always Already The Case, and, therefore, the Perfect Form of any condition is Already, Priorly, and Presently True of it.”

    I see massage as a valuable mutual relationship where  both the giver and the receiver are involved in a process greater than the two.
     I am also currently offering private yoga instruction to the beginner as well as the advancing student. I am available for instructing a larger group to those who are interested and committed to cultivating a lifelong practice. Please contact me for further details.

Testimonials
"Scott was great.  For a sixty year old man, I faced starting Yoga with some trepidation but Scott helped me understand a great deal of the philosophy as well as a number of beginner poses. His instruction was thorough and he worked closely to make sure I understood what was the objective of each pose.  He also emphasized that having the perfect yoga pose was not an absolute to reap the benefits of yoga."

"I have been receiving massage from various therapists for nearly twenty-five years, most of whom were very good. However, I find and most certainly feel that Scott Belanger is the best yet. He's very attentive and thorough, and always hitting just the right spot. He has a gentle healing energy. He truly has been a gift in my life. I highly recommend him."

"Scott was very thorough in discussing my health concerns and my goals for our work together. This work was very specific and effective. I will be happy to come back again."
