FAQ's

For a basic overview on Massage and its' many benefits, the following link for WebMD is provided.

What can I expect the first time I come for a massage?

The first time you come for a massage you can expect to spend about 30 minutes with intake, including filling out a health history form, an informed consent form and time for a general evaluation and plan of treatment. All financial activity will occur before the treatment.
Ideally, all clothing is typically removed, although some people wish to keep some clothing on to feel safe. I will do my best to accommodate your needs to foster an environment of safety and trust. You will be given time in privacy to prepare yourself on the table. I always use appropriate draping procedures to prevent exposure of private areas, and only work on areas specifically permitted by you. You can expect to be asked for feedback on the depth of pressure, pace of stroke, location of stroke, etc. and you will be encouraged to relax and deepen the breath. I will usually begin with the back and shoulders or with the head and neck, and then work from the extremities toward the heart. You are expected to participate by communicating your needs as they arise and change.  As the session comes to a close, I will end with a gentle and subtle resting touch and appreciation of you for taking the time to take care of your body. You will be given time to transition off the table and redress, then we will close with a brief check-in regarding your experience and future plan of treatment and/or rescheduling for next appointment.
